Cynthia Cubbage, owner/trainer of Cubbage Sporthorses of Aiken SC/Augusta, GA was severely injured in a vehicle accident October 4, 2018. She had recently returned from another successful Arabian Sporthorse Nationals in Idaho. Her car was cutoff on a local interstate and crashed into a bridge abutment. Thanks to several good Samaritans, she was pulled from the wreckage as the car began to smolder. She has had numerous surgeries to pin broken bones in her right hand, reposition bone fragments in the right heel and repair damages to her left knee and ankle. More surgeries are coming to rebuild her right heel which was totally crushed in the accident. The surgery on her right hand and left knee appear to have been successful. She is unable to put weight on either leg and must use a wheelchair for at least the foreseeable future.
