EKAHA’s Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction
Posted on February 9, 2012March will get hot when EKAHA members gather for their annual Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction. The tradition continues, with members vying for the titles of 2012 Chili Champion and Dessert Dominator on March 10 at the Hillcrest Christian Church, 11411 Quivira Road, Overland Park, KS 66210.
Social hour starts at 5 p.m., and the competition heats up starting at 6 p.m., when the tasting begins. The auction will follow the crowning of the chili and dessert champs.

Prairie Fire
Posted on January 5, 2012Wednesday afternoon, long time Arabian horsemen Gordon and Sandy Hester of Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada were dealt a devastating blow when a prairie fire, fueled by hurricane force winds topping 75km, raced through their property destroying virtually the entire farm with the exception of the house. Thanks to early-enough warnings and the assistance of a tight-knit farming community, they were able to move 55 horses out ahead of the blaze, along with their dogs, but lost virtually everything else...

Harry Cooper Leaves the Ring (1937-2010)
Posted on November 23, 2010Monday, November 22 saw the passing of one of the Arabian community’s great horsemen, Harry Cooper, when he succombed to emphysema at the age of 73. Harry was known as the Voice of The Arabian Horse, after having been an integral part of the Arabian show ring and auction arena for over 30 years as a professional announcer, and before that as a partner in his wife, Sue’s, training business, and later still as a partner in the successful family business, Seehorse Video.
